Why the wallet needs KYC
The Fantoss wallet holds your deposit balance, your bonus balance and your withdrawable balance. Withdrawals above ₹10,000 require PAN verification under Section 194BA of the Income Tax Act. Withdrawals above ₹2,000 also require the second-factor check (email confirmation plus device fingerprint). The KYC flow is built to be fast — most verifications complete in under 5 minutes on a 4G phone.

PAN verification — mandatory above ₹10,000
Open the wallet, choose Verify PAN, type the 10-character PAN, confirm the name on the PAN matches your registered name. Verification completes in under a minute on a stable connection.
The PAN name must match the name on your bank account and your UPI handle. A mismatch will hold your withdrawal in manual review for 24–48 hours. Contact customer care if the PAN name does not match.

Aadhaar-based eKYC — optional but faster
Open the wallet, choose eKYC, type your Aadhaar number, accept the consent, enter the OTP. Aadhaar eKYC verifies your address and your date of birth in a single flow.
Aadhaar eKYC is optional but speeds up the first withdrawal and reduces the manual review window for PAN-mismatch cases. The flow uses UIDAI's OTP-based verification — your Aadhaar number is not stored on Fantoss servers.

UPI binding — match the PAN name
Open the wallet, choose Bind UPI, type your UPI handle (or select from contacts). The handle must be linked to a bank account whose name matches your PAN.
A UPI handle bound to a different name will be rejected at withdrawal. If you have multiple bank accounts, bind the UPI handle that matches your PAN name exactly.
Withdrawal thresholds and TDS
Withdrawals below ₹2,000: no second-factor check, processed within 30 minutes. Withdrawals between ₹2,000 and ₹10,000: second-factor check, processed within 30 minutes. Withdrawals above ₹10,000: PAN verification mandatory, TDS at 30% under Section 194BA, processed within 24 hours.
The TDS is deducted at withdrawal and reflected in the wallet transaction history. The TDS receipt is downloadable as a PDF from the wallet.
What to do if KYC fails
If PAN verification fails, double-check the PAN name and the spelling. A common cause is a name change after marriage — in that case, update the PAN first, then retry verification.
If Aadhaar eKYC fails, request a fresh OTP from UIDAI. The OTP is valid for 10 minutes. If the failure persists, use the PAN verification flow instead.
Reversing a withdrawal
Withdrawals can be reversed only if the UPI transaction fails (for example, the UPI handle is invalid). Once the withdrawal is successful, it cannot be reversed — the money has left the Fantoss wallet and is in your bank account.
If you see an unfamiliar withdrawal in your wallet history, raise a customer-care ticket immediately. The desk can place a hold on the wallet while the dispute is investigated.
