Who we are

Fantoss is an Indian fantasy-cricket editorial desk. We write for readers who treat fantasy cricket as a skill format — pitch reads, salary-cap math, captain discipline, contest-bankroll control. The desk is independent of any fantasy app, but we use Fantoss as the working app we test against because the editorial team is part of the product team. Every piece on this site is written by a human, edited by a second human and verified before publication.

The editorial desk

The Fantoss editorial desk is staffed by a small team of writers with cricket-journalism backgrounds — former sports reporters, fantasy-league operators and working captains. The desk operates Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 9 PM IST.

Every desk member is named in the byline of the piece they write. We do not use anonymous contributors. The editor's name appears in the masthead of every published piece.

How we pick topics

We pick topics that affect a fantasy-cricket lineup — pitch reports, captain picks, transfer windows, IPL schedule changes, points-system tweaks, state-rule updates. We do not pick topics that read like marketing.

Editorial calendar is published monthly on the News desk. We post-match verdicts, pre-match briefs and a weekly long read on a Sunday morning.

The verification process

Every fact in every piece is verified against a primary source — official scorecards, press releases, government notifications, store listings. The verification trail is cited in the footnotes of long-form pieces.

If a fact cannot be verified, we say so. We do not paraphrase speculation as fact. We do not invent dates, scores, quotations or audience reactions.

What we do not write

We do not write promotional content for any fantasy app, including Fantoss. We do not accept payment for reviews. We do not write sponsored posts that read like editorial.

We do not cover topics that are not about fantasy cricket. The desk stays inside its lane — no politics, no celebrity gossip, no general sports coverage.

How to reach the editorial desk

Editorial pitches, corrections and tips: [email protected]. The desk reads every email and replies within 48 hours. We do not accept story tips via social channels.

Customer-care queries (wallet, KYC, withdrawals, account access) go to in-app help — not the editorial desk. The desk does not handle support tickets.

Funding and independence

Fantoss is funded by the Fantoss platform itself. The editorial desk is independent of the platform's commercial team — the desk does not see marketing plans, contest calendars or revenue targets.

This means we can write about contest ledgers, withdrawal speeds and customer-care response times without filtering through the commercial team. Where we find a fault, we publish it. Where we find a strength, we publish it.
